Senior Underwriter

Description

You will be our Partnership Underwriter and report to the Trading Head in Stockholm. In this role you will be the face of SiriusPoint in the market and build a profitable MGA portfolio. You will underwrite, price, analyze, develop and manage the MGA partnership portfolio as well as develop and maintain excellent contact and relationships with brokers, clients and other market players.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Underwrite, analyze and price MGA opportunities and Reinsurance contracts
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with business partners
  • Monitor and manage MGA contracts in respect of performance, profitability, risk selection and growth opportunities
  • Use pricing and portfolio management tools according to rules and guidelines
  • Secure quality and consistency in risk evaluation and pricing
  • Develop and maintain business relationships
  • Promote and market SiriusPoint's products, risk appetite and services to brokers, MGAs and insurers, networking within the insurance community
  • Stay abreast of changes within the industry and have good knowledge about market trends
  • Read, understand and sign contracts/binder wordings
  • Participate in projects and support activities related to the UW/Trading process
  • Collaborate closely with other teams and offices within SiriusPoint

 

Your skills and abilities should include:
  • Broad knowledge and experience of insurance (and reinsurance) underwriting ideally across different Lines of Business such as Liability, Financial Lines, Engineering, Commercial Property or Pets
  • Experience of MGA risk assessment, evaluation and management is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of (re)insurance pricing
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills, solution orientated and creative
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses in a simplified way 
  • Curious and excited to present conclusions/recommendations to senior leadership team
  • Proven track record of successful client relationship management and client centric approach to business partnership
  • Experience from Product Oversight and Governance
  • Fluent language skills in spoken and written English are required. Ability to speak, write and/or read other languages is an advantage
