Join Our Team  
You will be our VP Risk Manager and in this dual role will be responsible overseeing Risk Management for Bermuda and the US as well as Investment Risk Management at Group level. You will report to the Group CRO and be part of the global Senior Risk Management team.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Oversee Risk Management for SPNT Bermuda, SPNT America and SPNT Specialty in accordance with the Group's risk management methodology and procedures  (2nd line of defence responsibilities)
  • Jointly with the Risk Lead US oversee the Risk Management for SPNT America and SPNT Specialty in accordance with the Group's risk management methodology and procedures
  • Oversee the execution of SPNT Bermuda’s Risk Management annual plans, in coordination with the Group CRO to ensure consistency with the Group Risk Management plan
  • Lead a small team of two risk management experts located in Bermuda and the US
  • Responsible for SiriusPoint Bermuda’s risk related regulatory filings to the BMA, including the annual GISSA, and any ad-hoc requests
  • Act as a liaison to the regulatory compliance team for maintaining an up to date understanding of regulatory developments relevant for the Group
  • Representing Risk Management as a member at the SPNT Bermuda board
  • Independently review business plans and initiatives
  • Support the Group risk register process
  • Serve as a member of the Global Risk Management team supporting all aspects of 2nd line of defence risk management
Investment Risk Management
  • Oversee Investment Risk Management for the Group (2nd line of defence responsibilities)
  • Jointly with the investment team recommend methodologies to identify, assess, measure, mitigate and report market, credit, interest and FX risk as well as ALM risks.
  • Develop and  maintain policies and guidelines relevant to the management of market, credit and liquidity risk.
  • Recommend and monitor financial risk tolerances and limits.
  • Lead the quarterly/annual financial risk reporting process and provides commentary for internal risk reports and external risk communication.
  • Support the review of and assessment of financial risk models (including intern, regulatory and rating agency models).
  • Supports the 1st line by providing independent business, transaction and portfolio reviews through analysis of market and credit risk.

 

Your skills and abilities should include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, actuarial, economics, mathematics. An actuarial qualification or FRM, CFA, CAIA or similar qualifications are a plus
  • 7-10 years of experience in risk management / investment risk management, preferably at a global re/insurer
  • Good understanding of regulatory environment
  • Strong analytical and data skills.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and frame appropriate questions.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management risk subject matter and to present complex financial to Executive leadership and.
  • Advanced MS Office suite skills. Knowledge of the industry's standard risk models such as BlackRock Aladdin and stochastic modelling software (e.g., ReMetrica) is a plus.
