Join Our Team
You will be a Pricing Actuary that will apply your knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistic, principles of finance and business to solve problems in property and casualty insurance. This role reports directly to the Head of Property Pricing and Analytics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing ceding company data to price assigned Property reinsurance contracts following sound actuarial methods and professional standards of practice.
- Ensuring the timely and quality completion of pricing studies in line with internal profitability targets.
- Documenting critical issues, assumptions, and methodologies supporting the pricing recommendations.
- Communicating results, methods, and assumptions clearly with underwriters and/or brokers in all forms of communication (e-mail, phone, in-person).
- Running Catastrophe models (AIR/RMS) and use output in evaluation of Property Reinsurance treaties.
- Validating Catastrophe Modelling output using industry + cedant data.
- Researching insurance industry data to assist in the analysis of benchmark pricing parameters, including trend, rate changes, and loss development.
- Keeping current on industry developments, emerging issues, available data sources, and new products in the (re)insurance sector.
- Developing new rating methods and update models to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of actuarial pricing tools.
- Monitoring performance of bound treaties as input for company’s quarterly reserving.
- Some travel may be required.

Your skills and abilities should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Math, Sciences, Economics, Engineering, etc.).
- 3-5 years of industry-related experience with a focus on either personal and/or commercial property. Property reinsurance pricing a plus.
- Minimum of two examinations passed towards the Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, correlation techniques, sampling theory, severity distribution, regression, and theory of interest.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Strong Excel skills with some programming experience: SQL preferred, experience in a scripting language (Python/Java) etc. is a plus.
- Communicate effectively with individuals both verbally and in written form.

SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $88,000 per year to $110,000 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
