Position summary

Tantus Technologies is seeking a Google Workspace Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the DOT’s enterprise transition from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace. This role provides program-level guidance to digital factories, delivery teams, and business units to ensure effective use of Workspace tools, workflows, and collaboration capabilities. The SME will lead strategic planning, user enablement efforts, governance, process design, and best-practice adoption to drive long-term success across the organization.

What will you do in this role?

  • Provide program level guidance to digital factories on how to best use Google Workspace tools, features, and integrations.
  • Develop workflows, processes, and collaboration models optimized for Gmail, Drive, Shared Drives, Chat, Meet, and Workspace Add-Ons.
  • Advise leadership and program teams on Workspace governance, policy decisions, organizational structure, and long-term adoption strategy.
  • Lead development of user guides, training materials, quick-start content, and self-service resources.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and coaching for end users, team leads, and mission-area stakeholders.
  • Support change management efforts, including communications, rollout planning, and user-readiness execution.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices for document sharing, access management, file migration, and collaborative workflows.
  • Evaluate digital factory needs and recommend solutions, automations, and workspace configurations to improve productivity and cross team collaboration.
  • Partner with IT, security, and PMO teams to ensure aligned processes, compliance, and consistency in Workspace adoption. 

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • 5+ years of experience as a Google Workspace SME, consultant, or enterprise administrator.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding organizations through Workspace adoption, modernization, or large-scale migration.
  • Certified in Professional Google Workspace Administration
  • Expert on User-level proficiency with google workspace and its tools (doc, sheets, slides, Gmail, meet, chat, forms, Appsheet, Apps Script, etc.) 
  • Strong background in collaboration workflows, business process design, and user-enablement strategy.
  • Experience building training programs, user guides, onboarding content, and governance models.
  • Ability to advise senior leadership and program teams with clear frameworks, best practices, and structured recommendations.
  • Understanding of Workspace security, sharing policies, data governance, and cross-platform collaboration.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $175,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
