Position summary

We are seeking a Project Specialist to support project planning, coordination, and administrative activities for government-focused initiatives. This role will assist project teams with tracking schedules, organizing meetings, maintaining documentation, monitoring action items, and supporting day-to-day project operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. This position focuses on project coordination and support rather than direct project management responsibilities.

This candidate must be willing to work a hybrid work schedule consisting of at least 2-3 days a week onsite in Beltsville, MD. Some occasions may require 5 days a week onsite.

What will you do in this role?

  • Support project teams by maintaining project schedules, trackers, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate and schedule stakeholder meetings, working sessions, and project reviews.
  • Attend meetings, document notes, capture action items, and track follow-up activities.
  • Prepare meeting materials, reports, presentations, and status updates.
  • Monitor project activities and escalate potential schedule or task delays to project leadership.
  • Maintain project records, documentation repositories, and version-controlled files.
  • Assist with project reporting and status tracking.
  • Support configuration management and documentation activities using tools such as ServiceNow, SVN, or similar platforms.
  • Coordinate communication between project team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to project managers and technical teams.
  • Assist with project deliverables, documentation reviews, and quality assurance activities.
  • Help ensure compliance with organizational processes, standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Perform additional project-related support duties as assigned.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, project support, business operations, administrative support, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting projects through planning, execution, and reporting activities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience maintaining project documentation, meeting records, and action item trackers.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

 

Preferred Certifications & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government contracts or federal programs.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, SVN, Jira, SharePoint, or similar project support tools.
  • Experience preparing project reports, status updates, and executive briefings.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
  • Experience supporting project managers, program managers, or technical teams.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the base compensation range (25%-50%-75%) for this role is $48,000- $51,500- $55,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on several factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Compensation ranges for roles in our Government Services pillar are determined by contract with the specific government agency Sikich is servicing.
