Hundreds of our marketing, creative, engineers and technical infrastructure staff need guidance in helping them see how their work impacts other parts of our teams, as well as the potential impact on the entire company and its shareholders.
We need you, a person with the “Big-Picture” in mind who can drill down into the details in order to demonstrate, convince, and influence your business partners, FP&A colleagues, and Accounting staff that a given idea, method, or investment is good for Shutterfly’s shareholders.
We are searching for you, a person who loves bringing the best out of people, who loves mining for new ways and ideas to improve our customer and employee satisfaction, and who loves the challenge of challenges.
Trust is earned. It is earned through weighing the alternatives, risks, and making a judgment which others respect. Communication is the foundation of developing this bond with your business partners, vendors, and peers. We need you to be very good in this skill-set whether in teams, individually, verbally, and written. The Board of Directors will at times see your work.
Our people have hundreds of ideas which need a financial foundation. Your job is to help them structure their ideas in such a way that both the quantify (cash flow, IRR, NPV…) and the qualitative (improved customer satisfaction, reduced employee downtime, security…) values are highlighted and prioritized for the final decision-makers.
We are looking for a frugal person who weighs the alternatives and their do ‘ability.
As a financial expert in analysis, we need a person who is meticulous and who keeps at it until either the time is up or the best solution is found with your accounting peers and/or business partners. About ten days in a month are spent analyzing account and
project variances between actuals to forecasts / budgets and then creating new monthly forecasts and annual budgets and strategies with your business partners. Estimates for accruals and re-classes need to be made on a regular basis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our financial closings, so we can make informed decisions on resource allocations.
The Shutterfly and LifeTouch family is continually evolving its organizations, products, and support systems. Currently planned for you, depending on your skills: Integration of newly-acquired and potential acquisitions. Some national travel may be required.
We need a person who understands how to build effective and efficient procedures and routines which support these system changes and brings people together to make informed decisions in a timely manner. Knowing Oracle, Excel Pivot and Powerpivot functions will be helpful in your quest to find better ways and to help your teams. SAP is in our future too.
Ad-hoc analysis will round out your work day.
