Sr. UX Product Designer

Product Management / UX Redwood City, California

Shutterfly’s Mobile and Photos team is seeking a passionate Senior UX/UI Designer to create innovative, high-quality user experiences that delight our customers and drive business growth.  Shutterfly’s Mobile and Photos team focuses on photo upload/organization/editing/sharing, as well as photo product creation and commerce – across desktop web, mobile web and native mobile applications (iOS and Android).  We are looking for someone who is passionate about consumer services, social networking, and e-commerce.  As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will collaborate with Product Management and Engineering on broad, complex problems that require outstanding practical experience and theoretical knowledge of both design as well as business.

We are looking for people who are inquisitive, humble, optimistic, collaborative, empathetic and creative. We want people who can pursue multiple paths equally, who love design but are not in love with their own designs. All our designers must be able to conceptualize innovative solutions, create user experience specifications, workflows and mockups, and provide expert evaluation of intangibles as well as develop well-crafted design artifacts. We do not want people that simply apply established patterns, but rather those who will dig in to understand the underlying issues.

The Senior UX/UI Designer role is highly visible within the organization. The expectation is that you should be able to evangelize your ideas and provide leadership for the overall design vision and execution of your products.
