eCommerce Payments Manager

As Manager of eCommerce Payments, this role will be in charge of maintaining the current payment platforms as well as exploring key opportunities for growth and improvement.  This role will be responsible for handling external relationships with payment method vendors and reviewing business rules/strategies for addressing fraud.   This role will also ensure timely cash settlement and work collaboratively with the financial reporting teams, engineering, product management and the business to ensure that the payments acceptance processes are working optimally.

Position Description:

·        Work with the business to maintain the payments pipeline, managing day-to-day responsibilities such as monitoring & researching the cause of payment declines, daily reconciling of payment processing statements for multiple high volume brands and monthly assessments of payment card fees

·        Analyze daily and monthly reporting to present to various areas of the business and to create strategies & continually focus on interchange and process optimization

·        Develop & Document systems, operations, processes and reporting flows for large-scale business processes

·        Be an internal SME in ecommerce payments processing to assist in solving daily payments issues creatively and effectively

·        Work with external partners in fraud prevention and payment processing

·        Manage fraud strategy, tools, metrics, and Senior Fraud Analyst on daily credit card fraud mitigation and chargeback activity

·        Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities for payments and fraud optimization

·        Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Marketing and business teams to ensure optimal payment acceptance practices

·        Track, analyze, influence, and communicate key metrics to influence decisions and new payments initiatives

·        Inform, influence, support, and execute initiatives focused on reducing payment costs and redundancies

 

Requirements:

·        Proven track record, with 4+ years related experience in eCommerce and payment operations or product management preferred; knowledge and experience in e-commerce fraud prevention a plus

·        Ability to create and maintain reporting to reconcile payment statements to bank statements

·        Strong understanding of payment card brand rules and regulations, the payments acceptance process and systems involved in the process, basic engineering awareness of the technical payment process

·        Experience working and negotiating with external business partners and vendors

·        Effective people manager

·        Strategic thinker capable of presenting to and driving internal stakeholders to a consensus on important issues

·        Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to drive and implement ideas in a changing environment

·        Strong quantitative abilities ,and intuition, exceptional analytical skills

·        Self-motivated and proactive with exceptional follow-though; works with a sense of urgency

·        Ability to research a subject and present findings in a clear and concise manner

·        BA required, MBA or MS Degree or equivalent experience desired
