Shutterfly is looking for a friendly, experienced, and skilled Technical SEO Manager for the Shutterfly Family of Brands. Reporting to the Sr SEO Manager, the Technical SEO Manager will play a key role growing relevant SEO traffic and revenue through strategic SEO projects. We’re looking for someone who is objective, interested in data, consistently open to new ideas, and analytical. This role is both hands-on / tactical rolling out projects as well as strategic planning new opportunities. The most important skills for this role are technical SEO, development, CMS platforms, content, UX design, links, and analytics.

Responsibilities of the Technical SEO Manager:

  • Technical SEO project skills such as Schema, JavaScript troubleshooting, XML sitemaps, redirects, and more
  • Manage projects, research SEO, and build data for strategies
  • Code, design, and write for ongoing projects
  • Extensive experience writing and editing content that includes pages, articles, URLs, alt tags, and meta tags
  • Identify keyword, page, and overall content gaps/new opportunities
  • Cross functional collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Reporting on a weekly and monthly basis
  • A full range of SEO skills in content, development, technical topics, UX design, link building, analytics, keyword research, local, onsite optimization, SEO audits, and ASO
  • Skills editing settings and posting pages in WordPress
  • Yoast SEO expertise
  • Day to day project management and execution of organic projects
  • Work to improve natural search rankings and referral traffic from organic search engines on both web and mobile platforms
  • Analyze our websites and identify opportunities to optimize site structure and content for improved discoverability
  • Recommend SEO opportunities based on keyword research, competitive analysis and internal tools

Requirements:

  • Ready to roll out projects hands-on as an individual contributor with no direct reports
  • Ability to pivot between tactical work and strategy
  • 2-5 years of experience in SEO focused roles
  • Positive, helpful attitude
  • Content writing and editing experience
  • Experienced with at least a few SEO tools that include SEMRush, Ahrefs, BrightEdge, Clearscope, Searchmetrics, Google Search Console, and/or Botify
  • Open to new ideas and data, ready to hear helpful feedback as needed and learn new things
  • Self-motivated individual who is driven towards continual improvement of projects
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many projects at a time
  • Experience managing SEO campaigns with a focus on eCommerce websites
  • MS Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • BA or BS required
