Shutterfly is seeking a talented Sr. Manager, SEM to join its Performance Marketing team. This role will work closely with the Director, Search Marketing to drive both revenue growth and efficiency improvements through the SEM program.  This person will help lead the SEM team, managing multi-million-dollar budgets and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver results.  We are looking for someone who can balance stakeholder demands & business needs with revenue & efficiency goals; someone who is very analytical, data driven, and passionate about SEM & can communicate actionable insights to business leaders. We’re looking for a driven team lead who’s passionate about staying on top of best practices and new developments to take our SEM program to the next level.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Manager, SEM:

  • Manage campaigns and across products and platforms – including developing strategy, forecasting, optimization, execution and measurement
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to create & present initiatives, tests, quarterly budget & pacing plans
  • Create & project manage channel roadmap to drive improvements towards team goals
  • Drive incremental revenue with efficiency targets in mind
  • Manage and pace budgets to business needs and communicate opportunities for spend adjustments
  • Launch tests that explore best practices and new trends/alphas/features
  • Analyze performance data and provide relevant insights and action plans around keywords, landing pages, ad copy, audiences, bidding algorithms, shopping campaigns/PLA’s and more
  • Work closely with partners, vendors, and other channels to help contribute to company level objectives and KPI’s
  • Work closely with analytics teams and incorporate learnings in LTV and attribution to improve performance
  • Leverage customer insights and craft strategies that helps guide the customer journey
  • Report key learnings and major takeaways to internal and external stakeholders


  • 10+ years of experience in SEM with a focus on eCommerce / product feed experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills in collaborating and presenting to stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Data driven testing mindset to leverage learnings without bias
  • Experience with SEM tools such as Kenshoo, Marin, SA360, Adwords Editor
  • Open minded and friendly – considering past experiences and embracing new ideas and data
  • Motivated individual who is driven towards continual improvement of projects
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage many projects at a time
  • MS Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • BA or BS required
