Shutterfly is looking for an ambitious Senior Cost Accountant who wants to make an immediate impact.  This position will report to our Cost Accounting Manager. 

What You'll Do Here:

  • Month, Quarter, and Annual closing procedures related to Cost Accounting responsibility areas assigned
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts timely and accurately
  • Team’s Shipping Accounting expert, which includes monitoring status of invoices, building accruals, and reporting on status of activity
  • Team’s Partner (businesses that produce outsourced product for our customers) Cost Accounting expert, tracking status of invoices, accruals, and resolving outstanding items
  • Team’s Rebate Accrual expert, analyzing data and booking accruals based on the company’s progress towards meeting contractual volume targets that trigger receiving rebate checks
  • Preparation of audit requests along with support for various selections
  • Proactive identification of accounting issues and improvement of existing processes
  • Support ERP system implementation from Lawson to SAP for a portion of the business
  • Create and update documentation of assigned processes as needed
  • Various projects to assist the Accounting Manager, Director, and Controller

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Accounting/Finance/Business
  • 3+ years of public/private experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP with the ability to recognize and accurately record transactions, support balances, and document processes and procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and complex formulas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SAP ERP system
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master’s Degree in Accounting, or progressing in that direction
  • Experience working in a SOX internal control environment
