SEO Strategist (Contractor) 

Description

Shutterfly is looking for a friendly, experienced, and skilled SEO Strategist (Contractor) to work FT hours for a 6 month duration with the Shutterfly Family of Brands. Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager, this person will play a key role growing relevant SEO traffic and revenue through strategic SEO technical, UX, and content focused projects on Shutterfly.com/ideas/ and Shutterfly.com pages.

We’re looking for someone who loves to research, plan, roll out technical projects, test SEO strategies, leverage technical SEO best practices, write, find images for pages, and post pages live. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, enthusiastic, objective, interested in data, and consistently open to new ideas. This role is both hands-on / tactical rolling out projects as well as strategic to help planning new content opportunities. The most important skills for this role are technical SEO, research, content writing, UX design, and CMS platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit existing content and write new SEO friendly content primarily for shutterfly.com/ideas and shutterfly.com pages
  • Build keyword lists and page outlines
  • Crop and format images in Photoshop
  • Plan page designs and post live in WordPress and/or Bloomreach
  • Research SEO topics and plan projects
  • Cross functional collaboration with key teams
  • SEO audits and technical fixes such as redirects or SEO tags
  • Reporting
  • App store SEO keyword research and content
  • Work to improve organic search revenue, rankings, and traffic for web and mobile
  • Analyze search engine results, data from tools, competitors, and our websites to identify opportunities between content, UX design, links, and technical
  • Technical skills or understanding, such as JavaScript, HTML 5, Python, jQuery, and/or CSS
  • Analytics tools setup, troubleshooting, and data analysis
  • Write detailed creative and other briefs that effectively communicate goals of projects
  • Research data from Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, SEO tools, and more

Requirements:

  • Proactive attitude

  • Content writing experience
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Experienced in SEO with technical, content, links, UX, and reporting
  • Positive, helpful attitude
  • Ability to analyze and make data-driven decisions
  • Open to new ideas and data, likes getting feedback from team members
  • Self-motivated individual who is driven towards continual improvement of projects
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage many projects at a time
  • MS Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • BA or BS degree required
