Position Overview:      
The VP of Creative will be a pivotal force in shaping the visual identity of Shutterfly and Snapfish. This role demands a Brand visionary and steward, a Lead storyteller, and a performance-minded strategist. The ideal candidate will obsess over details, be curious and nimble, digitally savvy, customer-centric, and possess a passion for design as an inspiration-hunter. As a professional team coach, you will lead an in-house creative team to develop marketing assets across various channels, including web, app, email, paid social, print, production, and TV campaigns. Experience working with creative and production agencies is preferred, and expertise in eCommerce is a must.  This role requires initial bi-weekly travel to our Eden Prairie, MN office. 
Key Responsibilities:     
Brand Visionary and Steward: Define and evolve the creative vision for Shutterfly and Snapfish. Act as a steward for brand integrity and consistency.     
Lead Storyteller: Develop compelling storytelling strategies across digital channels and TV campaigns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storytelling seamlessly.     
Performance Minded: Drive creative initiatives aligned with business objectives and performance metrics. Analyze and optimize creative performance across diverse platforms.     
Obsess the Details: Set and maintain high standards for creative excellence in all marketing assets. Ensure meticulous attention to design, messaging, and user experience.     
Curious and Nimble: Stay informed about industry trends, design advancements, and emerging technologies. Adapt quickly to changing market dynamics and consumer preferences.     
Digitally Savvy and Customer Centric: Leverage digital platforms and technologies to enhance creative strategies. Prioritize customer needs to deliver exceptional digital experiences.     
Passion for Design and Inspiration-Hunter: Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement. Actively seek inspiration from diverse sources to fuel creative ideation.     
Professional Team Coach: Manage and develop an in-house creative team for optimal performance. Foster collaboration, creativity, and professional growth within the team.     
TV Campaign Oversight: Oversee the development of TV campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand messaging. Preferred experience working with creative and production agencies to effectively collaborate with external partners to achieve creative goals.    
Responsibility for Design Systems: Oversee and maintain the brands' design systems to ensure consistency.     
Photography Direction & Execution: Lead and guide the photography direction for Shutterfly and Snapfish.     
Vision Setting and Stakeholder Alignment: Set a clear creative vision and lead the team forward. Work cross-functionally to bring key stakeholders along in the creative journey.     
eCommerce Expertise: Essential experience in eCommerce to align creative strategies with business goals.     
Leadership Experience:      
  • Proven track record of successful leadership in a senior creative role, ideally as a Creative Director or VP of Creative. 
  • Experience managing and leading creative teams across various disciplines, including digital, print, photography, and production. 
Ecommerce Expertise:     
  • In-depth understanding of the eCommerce landscape, including trends, user behavior, and industry best practices. 
  • Demonstrated ability to align creative strategies with eCommerce goals to drive conversions and enhance user experience. 
Strategic Thinker:     
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and execute creative strategies that align with overall business objectives. 
  • Experience contributing to the development and implementation of the company's creative vision. 
Multichannel Expertise:     
  • Extensive experience working across multiple channels, including digital platforms, print materials, photography, and production. 
  • Ability to create cohesive and integrated creative campaigns that span various mediums. 
Creative Excellence:     
  • A robust portfolio showcasing creative excellence in digital, print, and photography. 
  • Strong aesthetic sense and the ability to ensure high-quality creative output across all channels. 
Team Management:     
  • Proven experience managing large and diverse creative teams, fostering collaboration and innovation. 
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop creative talent to achieve their full potential. 
Production Knowledge:     
  • Understanding of production processes for both digital and print, including pre-press, printing technologies, and digital production workflows. 
  • Experience optimizing production workflows for efficiency and quality. 
Budget Management:     
  • Demonstrated ability to manage creative budgets effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost efficiency. 
Cross-Functional Collaboration:     
  • Strong collaboration skills to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, UX/UI, and technology teams. 
  • Experience integrating creative efforts into broader company initiatives. 
Adaptability and Innovation:     
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing trends and technologies in the eCommerce and creative industries.  
  • Proven experience driving innovation within the creative function. 
Communication Skills:     
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate creative concepts and strategies to both creative and non-creative stakeholders. 
  • Experience presenting creative ideas to executive leadership and other key stakeholders. 
Technology Proficiency:      
  • Familiarity with creative software and tools used in digital design, photography, and production.  
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies relevant to the creative field. 
  • Track record of delivering measurable results through creative initiatives, including increased brand visibility, engagement, and revenue. 
 Client and Agency Management:      
  • Experience managing relationships with external creative agencies and vendors.  
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with external partners to achieve creative objectives. 
Continuous Learning:      
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about industry trends and advancements. 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Design, or a related discipline.
