Shutterfly is looking for an ambitious Senior Accountant who wants to make an immediate impact.  This position will report to our Revenue Accounting Manager, will be based in our Eden Prairie, MN office, and will have accounting responsibilities in revenue for our Lifetouch brands.  This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting transactions and reconciliations including posting entries to the general ledger, analyzing data, and collaborating with employees throughout the organization.  This position also works with third party auditors to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures related to revenue recognition for the Lifetouch brands
  • Preparation of audit requests along with support for various selections
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts associated with assigned Lifetouch brands
  • Proactive identification of revenue accounting issues and improvement of existing processes
  • Support system implementation from Lawson to SAP
  • Act as a mentor and peer coach to teammates
  • Create and update documentation of assigned processes as needed
  • Various projects to assist the Accounting Manager, Director, Controller and CFO

  • Bachelor’s degree Accounting/Finance/Business
  • 5+ years of public/private experience with a strong background in ASC606
  • Knowledge of US GAAP with the ability to recognize and accurately record revenue in accordance with US GAAP
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and complex formulas
Preferred but not Required:
  • Understanding of systems like Salesforce, SAP, Lawson and Oracle is a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience working in a SOX environment
