The Logistics Program Planner/Analyst will be partnering with the Logistics Program Manager.  This position is responsible for collaborating with Operations, Sales, customers, and product vendors in supporting all aspects of the Supply Chain, developing, and analyzing service and cost metrics, and building a strong service driven relationship between vendors and customers.  This position will have some customer facing interaction.

 Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to coordination of vendor shipments, managing all aspects of the transportation procurement process, and ensuring timely deliveries to meet our customers requirements.  Must develop a strong understanding of the day-to-day tactical operational activities from management of shipments, order receipt, carrier selection to final delivery.  This position will also identify opportunities for service and cost improvements.  In addition, they will analyze, support, and provide recommendations to reduce freight expense at the division level.

 Responsibilities:

• Facilitates communication between Operations, Sales, Vendors and Customer Service to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain.
• Responsible for optimizing carriers to obtain required service levels at the most competitive price.
• Manage the execution of entire shipment and transportation life cycle from order receipt and carrier tender through final delivery to customer.
• Perform daily shipment tracking for strategic customer deliveries to ensure customer expectations are being fulfilled.
• Monitor carrier service KPI’s and conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions when metrics fall below established thresholds
• Identify and partner with Logistics Program Manager on cost savings and operational improvement opportunities
• Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvement
• Analyze shipping data and provide a transportation/freight optimization plan to lower overall freight expense
• Ensure that quality, quantity, customer satisfaction, and financial commitments are met
• Communicate and resolve service issues quickly and efficiently
• Communicate daily with vendors and customers. The expectation is to be onsite when needed and make routine visits to both vendors and customers.
• Establish and cultivate carrier relationships along with regular meetings to monitor goals and objectives

 Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or similar field; and 1-3 years’ experience in transportation planning, logistics or overall supply chain management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of OTR, TL and LTL modes of transport and their general operations required.
• Strong knowledge base of logistics and transportation procurement.
• Experience with TMS systems preferred.

• Strong Microsoft Office Skills: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
