Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

Position Overview

The IT Business Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial, administrative, and operational aspects of the IT department. The role serves as the bridge between the IT team and other departments, ensuring efficient coordination, financial planning, vendor management, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, financial, and communication skills to support IT leadership in executing the department's strategy and goals.
 
Essential Job Functions
 
Budget & Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the IT department’s annual budget, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and report on budget performance, including expense forecasting, variance analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Handle procurement and invoicing processes, ensuring timely payment to vendors and alignment with financial protocols.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Vendor & Contract Management:
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, negotiating contracts, tracking service level agreements (SLAs), and ensuring quality delivery.
  • Oversee vendor procurement processes, including RFPs, RFIs, and vendor evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and maintain accurate records of agreements and renewals.
Project Coordination & Resource Management:
  • Support IT leadership in managing resources, including personnel, software, and hardware.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for IT project implementations, ensuring deadlines, milestones, and budgets are met.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and help resolve any bottlenecks.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize IT operations and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT administrative functions.
  • Assist in setting up KPIs and metrics for tracking IT performance and service delivery.
Reporting & Data Analysis:
  • Prepare and present financial and operational reports for IT leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze data related to IT operations, budgets, and project performance, providing actionable insights.
  • Maintain IT department dashboards and reports to keep teams informed of critical metrics.
Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure IT operations align with legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements.
  • Assist in managing risk by identifying potential issues related to IT budgeting, vendor management, and contract compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and compliance teams to mitigate risks and ensure best practices.
 
Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business operations, IT management, or project management; or 8 year with a Master’s degree.
  • Experience in budget management, financial reporting, and vendor management is essential.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial and project management tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI, MS Project).
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on improving operational efficiency.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in IT or technology-driven organizations.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or IT service management (e.g., ITIL) is a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems or procurement platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP).

Market Range:

San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) Market Range: $136,000-$170,000
All Other US Locations (Outside of SFBA): $116,000-$145,000

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
