Senior Manager, Data Platform
Description
Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.
Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, Data Platform at Shockwave will play a pivotal role in driving data-based decision-making culture across the company. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of our data platform strategy and implementation, ensuring the availability, accuracy, and usability of data assets for various functions. This hands-on role will be leading the team responsible for all the data and technology around the data lake platform, data modeling, ELT, and data transformations needed.
Essential Job Functions:
Data Lake:
- Drive the technology roadmap and implementation of the data lake.
- Build the data model needed to support current and future requirements.
- Build the data pipelines needed from the different source systems.
Source Systems: You will come with deep knowledge of the data in the following source systems - Oracle Fusion Cloud - Finance and Supply Chain (Must have skill), Salesforce (Must have skill)
Organizational Leadership: Lead a technical team and effectively communicate with peers in IT and Business teams.
Data Governance: Work across the organization to establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain data quality, security, and compliance.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts in different departments and convert their requirements to technical design and model and build the solution.
Technology Leadership: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data analytics, business intelligence, Machine Learning and Generative AI. Evaluate and implement cutting edge tools to enhance analytical capabilities, as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or master’s degree in data science, business intelligence, computer science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in data management, data analytics, or business intelligence.
- Proven experience with data warehousing, data modeling, ETL processes, and data visualization tools.
- Proficiency in cloud data warehousing technologies like Snowflake and data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in extracting and loading data from the following two source applications - Oracle Fusion Cloud (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing), Salesforce (Must have skill).
- Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with business partners cross-functional teams.
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to align analytics initiatives with overall business goals and proactively identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business value.
