Full-Time Opening Plastic Surgeon in San Diego, CA

Sharp Rees‑Stealy Medical Group (SRSMG) is seeking a board-certified, fellowship–trained Plastic Surgeon with Subspecialty Certification in Surgery of the Hand to join our growing Plastic Surgery program. This physician will play a key role in advancing our breast reconstruction and limb salvage programs, working closely with general surgeons and breast surgical oncology. Cosmetic surgery represents a small component of the practice, with the majority of cases focused on complex reconstructive care.

 

Practice Details

  • Work Schedule: 4-day work week: 34 patient contact hours/week
  • Outpatient Volume: ~25 patients per day

Clinical Focus

  • Breast reconstruction
  • Limb salvage

Call Schedule

  • 1:3 call rotation
  • Call coverage in 1-week blocks
  • Includes coverage of own patients during the week
  • Weekend coverage limited to Sharp Memorial Hospital (SMH) only
  • Inpatient consults with blocked OR time for operative cases

Candidate Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (ABPS)
  • Fellowship training required
  • Subspecialty Certification in Surgery of the Hand
  • Preferred minimum of 5 years of post-training experience
  • Demonstrated leadership or interest in microsurgical breast reconstruction and limb salvage programs

Compensation Total Range: $474,509.42K-$710K+: The posted compensation range reflects the anticipated salary or compensation range for this position, as required by applicable state law. Actual total compensation may be higher and can include additional earnings such as productivity incentives, quality and performance bonuses, hospital/call stipends, extra shift pay, and other compensation components, where applicable. Providers may also be eligible for a CME allowance and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity.
