Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: South Coast Gynecologic Oncology – San Diego, CA
Employment Type: 0.8 or 1.0 FTE
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience

The position is open for those interested in solely office-based practice or both office plus hospital/operating room-based practice.

What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate closely with physicians to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Perform medication reconciliation and coordinate discharge planning
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostics
- Educate patients on procedures, recovery, and ongoing care
- Support staff and student training; participate in clinical education

Outpatient:
- Conduct chemotherapy education and counseling, postoperative visits, surveillance visits, coordinate chemotherapy schedules.
- Perform office-based procedures such pap smears, colposcopy, gynecologic biopsies (training will be provided if necessary)
Inpatient:
- Assist surgeons in operating rooms
- Participate in inpatient rounds
- Perform medication reconciliation and coordinate discharge planning
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of outpatient oncology experience is mandatory
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
- NPs: Accredited Nurse Practitioner program graduate with current CA RN/NP license, national certification (ANCC/AANP), DEA, and furnishing license
- PAs: Accredited PA program graduate with current CA PA license, DEA, and Controlled Substance License (CSL)
Preferred Experience:
- Surgical assist experience, robotic and open abdominal surgery
- Gynecology or oncology-specific clinical work
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
