Position: Hearing Instrument Specialist
Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually (Based on experience) 
Sign-on Bonus: $10,000

Overview: If you’re an experienced Hearing Instrument Specialist who enjoys enhancing the auditory health and well-being of patients and is seeking a friendly, patient-centric clinical setting, we’re looking for you!  As our Hearing Instrument Specialist, you’ll help individuals with hearing challenges improve their quality of life by conducting hearing evaluations, recommending appropriate hearing solutions, and providing ongoing support to ensure optimal hearing outcomes.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough hearing assessments using audiometric equipment to evaluate patients' hearing abilities and needs.
  • Communicate with patients to gather medical history, lifestyle, and hearing concerns, providing a compassionate and understanding approach.
  • Interpret hearing test results and determine the type and degree of hearing loss in collaboration with an audiologist or as part of a healthcare team.
  • Recommend appropriate hearing aid solutions, assistive listening devices, and other hearing-related products tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
  • Conduct hearing aid fittings, adjustments, and follow-up appointments to ensure optimal comfort and functionality for patients.
  • Provide patient education on hearing aid care, maintenance, and the adjustment period to manage expectations and enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Offer counseling and support for patients and their families, addressing any emotional or psychological aspects related to hearing loss.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in hearing aid technology, accessories, and assistive devices to provide the best solutions for patients.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including evaluation results, recommendations, and follow-up appointments in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with audiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Promote the practice's services and build relationships with potential and existing patients through excellent customer service and effective communication.
  • Participate in professional development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
    Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent and experience in hearing science or a related field; education must be from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure as a Hearing Aid Dispenser in the State of California, or the ability to obtain such licensure by time of appointment.
