The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in supporting our healthcare practice by executing high-quality patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of a physician. Our top priority is to deliver excellent patient care while safeguarding patient and employee confidentiality.   

Hourly Pay Range:  $16.39 - 25.00

Essential Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Greet all patients warmly and efficiently check them in through the clinic's system.
  • Verify and distribute patient demographics, collect co-pays, and accurately log payments for billing.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments, reschedule appointments based on physician schedule changes, and confirm appointments.
  • Assist with insurance authorizations.
  • Handle incoming phone calls, assessing the urgency of calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Reconcile cash drawers at the end of the day, ensuring the accuracy of daily balances and banking records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front office area, ensuring supplies are adequately stocked.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications  

  • High School diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate or CPR Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months of Medical Assistant experience required; 1-2 years of experience preferred.
  • Insurance authorizations experience a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish required.

  • Proficiency in medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and Cal-OSHA safety and hazard regulations.
  • Experience in providing patient care to newborns, children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Thorough and organized in patient care and file maintenance.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient when dealing with patients, employees, and physicians.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
