Position Title: Referral Coordinator/Medical Assistant position

Employment Type: Full Time       

Typical Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm             

Hourly Range: $21.00-$23.00 (based on level of experience.)

We are excited to expand our team and invite applications for a Referral Coordinator/Medical Assistant position. This is primarily an administrative role focused on referral coordination; Medical Assistant duties are secondary and performed only as needed.      

Job Description:  
As a primary Referral Coordinator, you will be instrumental in providing a high level of customer service and administrative support, ensuring the efficient operation of our clinic. You will be the backbone of our operations, handling critical tasks that impact patient care and clinic efficiency.

Essential Functions:             

  • Coordinate and submit various authorizations.
  • Manage and fax necessary paperwork to specialists, including documentation of all communications.
  • Handle medication prior authorizations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service over the phone and in person.
  • Inform patients about their approval statuses and assist with related inquiries.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and complete various health forms.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential patient information with professionalism, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as managing medical supplies inventory and handling patient correspondence.

Competencies & Success Factors:             

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing patient records and clinical tasks.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain professionalism under pressure.
