Rheumatologist
Description
Cabrillo Center for Rheumatic Disease (CCRD) is seeking a full time rheumatologist to join a busy private practice servicing both the San Diego and Imperial Counties. Willingness to travel to our El Centro office in the Imperial Valley once every other week is preferred as all other providers do travel to this location.
We are looking for an individual who is kind, caring, and compassionate with patients, and who can work hard and wants to thrive in the private practice setting. Our practice includes two rheumatologists and three nurse practitioners. Physicians will assist with the supervision of nurse practitioners, infusion nurses, and medical assistants.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and management of systemic inflammatory rheumatic diseases, degenerative disease, and soft tissue disorders
- Educate the patient and family on his/her rheumatic disease and discuss a treatment plan
- Communicate with referring physician, primary care physician, and other specialists
- Recognize non-rheumatic disease issues that need to be referred to other specialists
- Highly proficient in all FDA approved therapies for rheumatic diseases
- Review diagnostic images (especially radiographs), and not rely only on radiology reading
- Review one’s own lab and imaging results in a timely manner
- Proficient at electronic prescribing
- Concise and thorough documentation in the EHR to include one’s train of thought for any provider
- Complete charting and billing by the end of each day
- Provide teaching and education to nurse practitioners and medical assistants
Requirements:
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology
- Must have an active California license
- Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent communicator who is empathetic, and is a respectful listener
- Interest in growing one’s private practice and referral base to be successful over the long term
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in Rheumatology
- Effective EHR skills
- Individual who would work well with our CCRD team
