Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of revenue cycle operations, with a strong emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and technology adoption. This leader will direct a multi-client revenue cycle team, standardize workflows across diverse EHR platforms (with a heavy Epic client base), and implement strategies to reduce costs while improving revenue capture, compliance, and client satisfaction..
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue cycle team (coding, billing, payment posting, AR, denial management, and client reporting).
- Design and implement centralized workflows and automation strategies to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
- Partner with IT to evaluate and integrate AI-assisted coding, RPA, and denial automation tools into the revenue cycle.
- Oversee client onboarding, ensuring seamless integration of new practices into Metis’ RCM model.
- Establish and track KPIs, benchmarks, and dashboards for internal performance and client reporting.
- Collaborate with providers and practice leadership to ensure accurate documentation, coding compliance, and optimized reimbursement.
- Serve as the Epic subject matter expert, guiding teams on best practices and identifying opportunities for workflow optimization.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and client service excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive revenue cycle management experience; at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing multi-specialty or multi-site operations.
- Epic experience required — preferably in professional billing (PB) and hospital billing (HB) modules, charge capture, and claims workflows.
- Demonstrated success implementing automation, CAC/AI tools, or centralized PM systems to improve efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of payer rules, regulatory compliance, coding standards (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and risk adjustment/HCC.
- Proven ability to lead teams through change management, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset with experience in KPI reporting, revenue optimization, and workflow redesign.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in a managed service organization (MSO) or third-party billing company.
- Background in both fee-for-service and value-based care arrangements.
- Track record of building and scaling RCM operations during periods of rapid growth.
- Visionary mindset — able to balance day-to-day revenue cycle operations with long-term strategy and innovation.
