Responsibilities 
  
Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for an aspiring Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. This role will work closely with fellow members of the Data Science, Machine Learning, and Business Intelligence teams to aid in uncovering actionable intelligence used to support business decisions and help steer strategic initiatives. Additionally, this role will develop an understanding of machine learning, data pipelines, and analytical techniques. 
  
  • Learn to mine, analyze, transform, and annotate data from company data sources for use in reporting, modeling, and ad hoc analysis 
  • Become acquainted with existing modeling development/pipelines 
  • Help maintain pipeline observation and monitoring, focusing on reliability and performance of resources 
  • Learn to surface pipeline, data integration, and data quality errors to the proper teams 
  • Work prioritized tickets in Jira assigned to you 
  • Other duties as assigned 
 
Qualifications 
 
  • Completed or in-progress bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent work experience 
  • Experience with databases a plus 
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) a plus 
  • Experience using statistical programming languages (Python, R, etc.) a plus 
  • Experience with pipeline / resource monitoring and observability tools a plus 
  • Experience using an IDE (VS Code, PyCharm, Spyder, etc.) and Github a plus 
  • Strong problem solving and written/verbal communication skills 
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques 
  • Databricks/AWS/Terraform experience a plus
