Responsibilities

Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for a QA Engineer Intern to join our Application Development team. This is a 10-week program for students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or recent CS graduates. The position will be in our Overland Park, KS office.

  • Analyze new features to the product based on functional and design specifications, recommending appropriate test strategies
  • Creation of Functional / End to End / Solution Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports utilized by local, remote, and external teams
  • Responsible to test all aspects of Software Testing
  • Planning, Creating & Executing Manual and Automated Test activities in an Agile environment.
  • Track & analyze test results and work closely with the developers to isolate and reproduce defects.
  • Gather and analyze software quality and performance metrics throughout the software development life cycle
  • Participate in daily standups, user story breakouts, development, and retrospective meetings

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated organizational and teamwork skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to participate in collaborative development projects
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to translate a business scenario into a technical solution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or recently graduated
  • Exposed to the concepts of an Agile based development methodology or similar formal methodologies are required
  • Exposed through coursework in one or more of the following programming languages: C#, JavaScript (React and/or Node), Python, Java, Swift or similar
  • Graduation date of December 2022 or May 2023
  • Internship runs 6/6/22 through 8/12/22
