Responsibilities  
 
Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis which includes completing journal entries, account reconciliations, overall examination of subsidiary financial statements, management fee allocation, calculating accruals, senior management report package preparation, preparing bank financials, preparing tax projections, and quarterly financial statement review preparation.  
  • Prepare schedules, provide documents, and answer questions on the annual audit of the financial statements and annual preparation of tax forms and shareholder credits  
  • Daily support for RTS Financial and RTS International which includes approving rate tables and handling special requests.  
  • Work with sales on client specific issues which include letters of credit, promissory notes, and other client related matters that may arise.  
  • Business development support which includes providing financial assistance on a timely basis to sales and/or operations.  
  • Work with RTS Carrier Services on commissions, tracking and reconciling rebate payments to accruals and commissions basis, and various other special requests  
  • Fixed asset accounting which includes entering and disposing of assets in the fixed asset system, monthly journal entries, and year-end audit and tax reporting requirements.  
  • Support internal legal team on insurance report matters which includes providing financial information and completing applications as needed.  
  • Manage accounting for leased office locations, communicating with lessors to resolve billing issues, assisting accounts payable with reviewing monthly rent invoices.  Review and reconcile operating expenses, ensuring deposits are made in accordance with the lease, tenant allowance reimbursements, etc.    
  • Help train, review work, and answer questions from peers, less experienced employees, other departments and outside parties  
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements in daily processes  
  • Additional accounting or operational projects as assigned  
Qualifications  
  • B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance (or related area)  
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in an accounting related role preferred  
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products, especially strong Microsoft Excel skills  
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred  
  • High energy and ability to multi-task  
  • Strong analytical skills and attention-to-detail  
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment  
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and to manage time effectively  
  • Ability to draw upon experience/professional skepticism to quickly identify issues and develop effective courses of action  
  • Requires an ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of employees, managers, and customers
