BASIC PURPOSE:  The Release Engineer located at KTP, (Ford Kentucky Assembly Plant ) works closely with and supports the Quality Assurance department in resolving any quality issues.  This position provides the necessary support for pre-production builds and for all regular production activities.   The Release Engineer position supports SEWS Quality Assurance strategies and objectives by working closely with SEWS, Ford manufacturing, quality, engineering and commercial entities.  
 
BASIC POSITION DUTIES:
  • Support the design and development of routing 3D wire harnesses with designers.
  • Support customer block meetings, design reviews, and PMT meetings.
  • Conduct CAD reviews with Engineering team.
  • Read and understand vehicle schematics.
  • Understand/Mark-up/sign off on 2D WH drawings.
  • Interface with internal SEWS / T&S Mexico functional groups.
  • Support vehicle launches / prototype builds.
  • Travel to wire harness manufacturing plants in Mexico to perform First Piece Sign Off.
  • Good communication, time management and interpersonal skills required, support day-to-day activities/customer requests.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4yr B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years experience with wire harness design and packaging
