Job Title Senior Clerk (Traffic)
The purpose of this position is to dispatch all inbound/outbound freight for Finished Goods/Raw Material Operations from/to El Paso Customer Service Center (ECSC), Mexico and all Customer Service Center plants. In addition, this position will monitor and maintain the assigned trailer inventory fleet for ECSC as well as issue daily inbound/outbound shipments. This role will schedule and maintain inventory of contents within storage trailers at ECSC and 3rd party logistics (3PL) company’s trailer yards as well as communicate with Mexico Aduanas to schedule pickup and confirm delivery of shipments to ECSC. This position will schedule and program deliveries of Raw Materials along with containers for processing at ECSC.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Support Finished Goods with empty trailers and schedule carriers for Finished Goods pickup or pick up of empty containers going to Customer Service Centers in US and Mexico. Support Raw Materials with empty trailers for Raw Material shipments going to Mexico Distribution Center and Manufacturing Plants.
- Communicate with Mexico Customs/Traffic, SEWS Logistics and ECSC Customs to confirm deliveries and/or pick-ups at ECSC.
- Follow up with vendors and carriers regarding schedules for local pick up and deliveries made to ECSC. Provide empty trailers, track deliveries, and notify Material Control/Finished Goods Planners of arrival times at ECSC.
- Control rental trailer pool between ECSC, Mexico, 3PL and SEWS El Paso assigned to ECSC fleet. Strong communication with Mexico Customs/Traffic for location of trailers and delivery status to ECSC.
- Responsible for yard truck (repair, maintenance and permits) and spotting activities from dock to dock within ECSC yard in addition to ECSC yard cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor and report inventory of ECSC yard and 3rd party trailer holding facility on a daily basis. Provide directive to ECSC mule spotter for required Operations including arrival, departure and priority for yard movements.
- Participate in daily meetings with Planners and Management to discuss deliveries and shipping schedules. Support Finished Goods with Returnable Container processing to external vendors.
- Monitor CTPAT compliance within ECSC. Communicate with US Customs, ECSC Customs, Carriers, as well as HR, Security and Logistics departments. Notify and implement changes as required to maintain CTPAT certification.
- Issue daily report and logs, as well as assign delivery numbers, review shipping paperwork for accuracy, seal trailers and download information and pictures into the system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required along with 5-7 years of clerical experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish is a plus
- Experience with InsourceAudit, Raw Material Management System (RMMS) and Integrated Procurement System (IPS) and similar programs is a plus
- Experience with automotive Cartage and Distribution as well as Mexican Operations preferred
