Revenue & Technical Accounting Manager

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Revenue & Technical Accounting Manager will lead our revenue operations and technical accounting.  Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of worldwide revenue accounting by providing accounting expertise, guidance and business sense to Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk. The Revenue and Technical Manager will also be responsible for managing and refining all things technical including: revenue recognition, compliance with 606, contract and deal review analysis, and research of other non-revenue technical accounting issues.  

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal and Deal Desk on deal structure and terms for revenue compliance and optimization
  • Partner with Sales and Deal Desk to review and make recommendations to drive revenue best practices
  • Research accounting guidance and prepare technical memos to document Company’s position on revenue transactions and other key accounting issues outside of revenue
  • Review contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and accounting standards under 606
  • Manage all aspects of the revenue recognition process including month-end reconciliations, audit support, system improvements and forecasting
  • Responsible for implementing, updating and maintaining process and policy documentation
  • Own and support ASC 606 system enhancements in NetSuite
  • Work with FP&A to help transition to ASC 606 including documentation of the Company’s accounting treatment on commissions
  • Create training materials for the Sales organization to access, review, and understand the new revenue recognition rules under 606
  • Partner with Sales, Legal and Sales Operations team to streamline processes, set-up for scalability, and improve the end-to-end quote2cash process cycle


  • 5+ years of public and private SaaS or technology industry experience preferred
  • Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think “out of the box”
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Strong organization skills and detail-oriented self- starter
  • Good comprehensive understanding of ASC 606
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build strong relationships across a business organization
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities and experience with the administration and design of workflows
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong documentation skills
