Job Description

The Senior Technical Writer (Software Product Documentation) works as a part of the documentation team to create and edit product documentation for cybersecurity software.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Document new features, improve existing documents, and manage feedback loops with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Edit documents for the team and implement style guide principles.
  • Collaborate with product managers to understand customers’ needs and work closely with our development and QA teams to understand the product.
  • Collaborate with other writers and coordinate on the delivery of shared content.
  • Perform peer reviews regularly and share feedback.
  • Organize and maintain online documentation repository.
  • Work on the documentation site layout and organization.
  • Understand, research, and follow trends in technical writing, and implement it.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in technical writing.
  • 2+ years of experience in editing and creating style guides.
  • BA/BS degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated to seek information from various SMEs.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Aptitude for learning new products, tools, and technologies.
  • Must be a self-starter who works equally well independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience in performing peer/editorial review to ensure a uniform voice throughout all documents and products.
  • Flexibility in working schedule.
  • Experience in the Cybersecurity background. (Preferred)
  • Experience with MadCap Flare. (Preferred)
