Job Description

The Jr. Technical Writer (Software Product Documentation) works as a part of the documentation team to create and edit product documentation for cybersecurity software.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Document new features, improve existing documents, and manage feedback loops with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with software developers, researchers, and other subject matter experts to gather requirements for documentation.
  • Collaborate with product managers to understand customers’ needs and work closely with our development and QA teams to understand the product.
  • Collaborate with other writers and coordinate on the delivery of shared content.
  • Perform peer reviews regularly and share feedback.
  • Work on the documentation site layout and organization.
  • Understand, research, and follow trends in technical writing, and implement it.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in technical writing or communications, or comparable field.
  • Strong command of the English language; able to write clearly and edit content for spelling, grammar, and mechanics, and vary writing style to meet specific audiences.
  • Strong critical analysis skills and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups and individuals.
  • Ability to collect, research, and understand complex or diverse information, and translate it into clear and concise written communication.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and balance the need for direction with self-motivated efforts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills—treat people with respect, keep commitments, inspire the trust of others, and work ethically and with integrity.
  • Belief in fostering a fun, enjoyable working environment (we value team bonding) while performing excellent, diligent work.

Desired Qualifications (Not Required):

  • Experience with Madcap Flare and/or familiarity with HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with cybersecurity or related products.
