We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with proven expertise in computational biology and bioinformatics to advance our industry-leading ADC technology.   This position is in the CRT (Core Research and Technologies) Computational Biology group within the Research Department, and will collaborate closely with colleagues in Research and other departments to gather relevant data and provide analytical expertise to experimentally test hypotheses around the working of our therapeutics, including mechanisms of action, sensitivity and resistance in both patient and model systems settings.   The successful candidate will be expected to call on their expertise in both classical and modern statistical data science methods to address these and a wide variety of analytical and biological problems relevant to the Research mission of advancing cancer therapeutics into the clinic.  This is a role that will require independent thought and excellent collaboration skills working on teams that span early research, translational sciences, and clinical development.   

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Research, as well as Translational Science and Clinical Development to provide analytical and domain expertise on specific project and initiative-based projects 
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Systems Biology within Research to support the design and analysis of experiments to systematically assess foundational hypotheses in in vitro and in vivo systems. 
  • Develop strong knowledge of the biology of specific ADC mechanisms of action to inform hypothesis generation and analysis decisions  
  • Marshall sequencing, screening and other high-dimensional datasets from public and internal sources to answer questions relevant to drug discovery and therapeutic design 
  • Apply specific subject matter expertise in the analysis of next-generation sequencing data across a variety of modalities, including RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, antibody sequencing, and DNA-seq. 
  • Champion modern data science approaches from the scientific literature and industry 
  • Effectively communicate results to Research teams as well as to cross-functional teams across the company 
  • Participate in core bioinformatics responsibilities such as sequencing data processing, data management, and data democratization efforts 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in IT and other departments on the design and use of shared data and analysis platforms and infrastructure 

Required Qualifications: 

  • PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field; or an MS in same plus extra industry experience 
  • Familiarity with working with large datasets from: molecular biology, immunology, or cancer biology 
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics and classical and modern statistical methods, and proficiency implementing and applying those methods in the R environment 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to illustrate problems and convey solutions to non-specialists  
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience to working in a team environment 
  • Experience with a general scripting language such as python, perl, or bash 
  • Experience working with bulk and single-cell RNA-seq and other next-generation sequencing data (processing and analysis) 
  • Experience working with large public datasets related to the biology and treatment of cancer, such as TCGA, GTEx, and GDSC 
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, R, or python 
  • Familiarity with standard coding best practices and source code control 
  • Facility navigating linux and Windows environments 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotech setting 
  • Experience working with proteomics data 
  • Experience working with functional genomics and high-content screening data 
  • Experience supervising or leading others, project management  
  • Experience designing or building web-based applications for data democratization and analysis, with thoughtful attention to the user experience. 
  • Interest and experience in data management best practices and solutions
