Summary: 

To meet the expanding needs of our drug development programs, Seattle Genetics is seeking a motivated, interactive, and flexible Research Associate to aid our immunology research team with a particular focus on innate immunity. The successful candidate will support our efforts to develop drugs to exploit the functions of the  innate immune system for the treatment of cancer.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Apply immunological, cellular, and molecular biology laboratory techniques to pre-clinical and applied research projects in the areas of tumor biology and/or immunotherapy
  • Aid in execution and analysis of experiments within the immunology team
  • Participate in the investigation of therapeutics targets in the area of cancer
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments, analyze and present data, and make intellectual and technical contributions to the projects and teams

Required Qualifications:

For Research Associate II:

    • BS or MS degree in Immunology, Cellular Biology or Molecular Biology
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience with immunological and molecular techniques including multicolor flow cytometry, cell culture, and Luminex/ELISA assays

For Research Associate III:

    • BS or MS degree in Immunology, Cellular Biology or Molecular Biology
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant laboratory experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience with immunological and molecular techniques including multicolor flow cytometry, cell culture, and Luminex/ELISA assays

 Qualifications:

  • Experience with human or mouse primary cell isolation/culture
  • Some experience with flow cytometry and/or Luminex assays 
  • Solid background knowledge of the field of immunology
  • Prior experience with biologics is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and analytical (Prism, FlowJo) software programs
  • Detail-orientated person with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Excellent teamwork is a must, with strong written/oral communication skills
