Position Summary:

Seattle Genetics has submitted a Marketing Authorization Application to EMA for tucatinib, a highly selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), for HER2+ metastatic breast cancer patients in Europe. Currently, Seattle Genetics is building its infrastructure in Europe, which includes a group of 6 operating Affiliates located in different countries, that will allow the commercialization of tucatinib.  

The First Line Sales Manager Germany North is part of the highly competent, experienced, dynamic and outcome driven sales organization DACH. She/he is responsible for the performance of all territories within the assigned area in Northern Germany and will lead a team of Senior Oncology Account Managers. The incumbent will represent as well as manage all account activity within the assigned area and will provide motivational and situational strong leadership and strategic direction to her/his team in order to achieve or exceed performance objectives.

 
Principal Responsibilities:

  • Leading disciplinary and functionally a team of Senior Oncology Account Manager in assigned area
  • Train, coach and develop your team to build and retain top performers sustainably within SeaGen
  • Responsibility for the performance of your team and individual members, including call quality and defined, tangible KPIs
  • Full responsibility to achieve defined Sales targets and area objectives
  • Provide and execute an impactful budget planning and allocation of available resources within your area in line with compliance guidelines
  • Drive and provide regional analysis and reporting of your area and deliver market and customer insights from the different territories as well as deduce appropriate actions to achieve the goals in collaboration with your team members
  • Consequently implement the defined sales strategy including the identification of new business opportunities
  • Assure, support, and monitor a target-orientated account planning process in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and track the derived activities according to pre-defined KPIs
  • Develop with your team regional tailor-made projects and educational events in order to meet the needs of your customers
  • Ensure all goals for division are met or exceeded; perform quarterly business reviews and provide leadership and strategic direction to your team in order to achieve performance objectives
  • Work with your team members on a consistent basis, evaluating their interaction with key customers, providing them with coaching and feedback to assure effective and added-value customer calls
  • Develop and execute regional and support national Sales conferences in line with company objectives, sales strategies and business needs
  • Ensure the needs of all internal and external stakeholders are being met by building relationships and delivering innovative solutions
  • Work closely with the Director Sales DACH, collaborate with cross-functional divisions on a regular basis, and on demand be a part of several project teams and serve as a resource within the German affiliate
  • Live a transparent and valued style of communication and nourish the open-minded company culture of SeaGen
  • Assist in development of division budgets

Qualifications:

  • Master or Bachelor's degree of business or natural sciences 
  • Graduated medical sales representative according to §75 AMG
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a first line sales manager in Oncology (breast cancer and gynecological oncology experience is highly preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and presentation skills in German and English
  • Situational leadership skills with high social competencies
  • Proven record of high performance, consistent results and development of sales teams
  • Strong knowledge of customer and healthcare landscape within therapeutic area is strongly required
  • Solid understanding of account planning and management
  • Sales Training, Sales Operations or Marketing experience is a plus
  • Previous launch experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of local compliance, as well as a sound ethical approach to business 
  • 80-90% Travel required
  • Some nights and weekends required
