Privacy Program Manager

As Data Privacy Program Manager, you will support the Data Privacy Director to build and continually improve our data privacy program, partnering with stakeholders throughout the organization to instill a culture of privacy.  You will map data flows and business processes and execute program initiatives to ensure that the right privacy controls and processes are documented, adopted and implemented to promote compliance with privacy laws and regulations, policies and procedures.  

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Engage cross-functionally to understand privacy needs and challenges of stakeholders, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvements  
  • As a privacy expert, partner with business teams to evaluate new initiatives, plans, and processes and incorporate privacy by design/default principles throughout development  
  • Work closely with Data Privacy Director and others in Legal, Information Security, and Compliance to manage and improve privacy program operations  
  • Inventory and map data flows and business processes, and train stakeholders how to initiate, update and maintain maps to foster good data stewardship and develop a proactive privacy compliance posture  
  • Conduct and assist stakeholders with privacy impact assessments  
  • Review assessments to identify potential privacy-related risks and gaps in compliance  
  • Participate in vendor due diligence assessments to evaluate data privacy risk  
  • Monitor relevant data protection laws and enforcement activities to ensure ongoing compliance, track emerging risks, and assist with policy creation and other program materials  
  • Draft and maintain policies, processes and other documentation (e.g., checklists, guidelines, FAQs) to ensure they are consistent, relevant, and up-to-date according to operational needs  
  • Assist in development and maintenance of training, education, communication, and awareness materials  
  • Deliver enterprise-level and role-based training content  
  • Assist in investigation and research related to potential privacy incidents and complaints  
  • Develop framework to identify and track relevant compliance and accountability metrics  
  • Monitor compliance with applicable data protection frameworks, policies and procedures  
  • Assist with presentations to various stakeholder groups, including Executive Privacy Committee  
  • Manage global privacy portal and mailbox, including tracking, assigning and responding to requests  
  • Maintain privacy SharePoint site  
  • Other related duties as needed 


  • Minimum of eight years of Project Manager or Legal background 
  • Minimum of two years related work experience in data privacy or compliance  
  • Minimum of two years experience in implementing compliance programs preferred

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills  
  • Organized, detail-oriented and accurate  
  • Flexibility and appetite to adapt to changes in constantly evolving internal and external environments  
  • Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and other privacy laws 
  • Able to translate complex rules and regulations into straightforward requirements that are easily understood by anyone 
  • Experience and interest in gaining a detailed understanding of how data is gathered, where it resides, how it's used  
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to program objectives, evaluate and document the tasks needed to achieve objectives, create actionable workplans and oversee to completion  
  • Self-organized and able to operate autonomously or with a team  
  • Fosters collaborative relationships to deliver results 
  • Comfortable proactively interfacing with stakeholders at all levels 
  • Operates with integrity, professionalism, and high ethical standards 
  • Paralegal or related legal background – comfortable with legal, regulatory and contractual language 
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills  
  • Awareness for escalating issues when appropriate 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment  
  • Experience negotiating data protection agreements  
  • Project management experience 
  • Understanding and/or experience of Privacy by Design 


  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • CIPP, CIPM, CIPT or other related certifications
