The Instructional Designer IV is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of high impact instructional content using an array of creative approaches that inspire learners and drive productivity. Your work creatively uses instructional design, learning methods, and appropriate technologies to enhance learning and engage learners through blended learning solutions.   

Principal Responsibilities:  

  • Leverage instructional design and authoring tool experience and knowledge to design and develop creative, learner-centered training programs, courses, microlearning tutorials, and materials in multiple modalities including synchronous and asynchronous virtual learning, classroom learning, interactive e-learning, simulations, animations, videos, learning labs, job aids, facilitator guides, assessments, and resource materials  
  • Consult with stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and project managers to create/revise storyboards, audio/video scripts, job aids/infographics, scenarios, online course content, and learning assessments based on sound adult learning techniques  
  • Guide and review the work of other instructional designers  
  • Create engaging knowledge checks and assessments based on learning and performance objectives  
  • Perform needs, task, audience, and content analyses to identify and recommend appropriate instructional strategies to meet objectives  
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously  
  • Lead the periodic review and update of learning materials based on product releases, process changes, evolving business requirements, and learner feedback  
  • Create and/or recommend appropriate visuals and visual design for learning content  
  • Recommend process improvements, best practices, templates, styles, and standards for all content developed  
  • Keep abreast of instructional design research, trends, technology, and tools  

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Communications, or related field  
  • Experience working in the biotech/pharma industry 
  • Minimum of 4 years experience developing learning content and 6 years professional experience  
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures and develop easy to understand solutions  
  • Demonstrated experience with authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, and Camtasia  
  • Familiarity with learning management systems  
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or SnagIt  
  • Knowledge of accessibility best-practices in course design and development  
  • Strong verbal and written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills 
  • Expert abilities with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive)  
  • Ability to quickly learn new products, processes, applications, and systems  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree in Education, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Communications or related field  
  • Experience with non-traditional authoring tools such as Vyond, PowToons, VideoScribe and/or game authoring tools  
  • Experience building content using WalkMe  
  • Knowledge of and experience with gamification and learning games  
  • Experience with visual design  
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft SharePoint
