Summary: 

The First Line Sales Manager is part of the highly competent, experienced, dynamic and outcome driven sales French organization. She/he is responsible for the performance of all territories within the assigned area in France and will lead a team of Senior Oncology Account Managers (Attachés Scientifiques Seniors en Oncologie). The incumbent will represent as well as manage all account activity within the assigned area and will provide motivational and situational strong leadership and strategic direction to her/his team in order to achieve or exceed performance objectives.  

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Effectively lead a team of Senior Oncology Account Managers in the assigned geographical territory 
  • Ensure team is able to achieve defined Sales targets and regional objectives - full ownership of Sales results for assigned territory 
  • Train, coach and develop team to ensure top talent is nurtured and developed and any performance issues are managed effectively
  • With guidance from the National Sales Director, ensure the team and its individual members have clear achievable objectives
  • Provide and execute an impactful budget planning and allocation of available resources within assigned territory in line with compliance guidelines 
  • Ensure, support, and monitor a target-orientated account planning process in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and track the derived activities according to pre-defined KPIs 
  • Work with your team to create tailor-made projects and educational events in order to meet client needs within assigned territory. 
  • Ensure all goals for assigned region are met or exceeded; perform quarterly business reviews and provide leadership and strategic direction to your team in order to achieve performance objectives 
  • Work with team members on a consistent basis, evaluating their interaction with key customers, providing them with coaching and feedback to assure effective and added-value customer calls 
  • Guarantee the implementation of the “charte de la visite médicale” 
  • Develop and execute regional sales conferences, and support national Sales conferences in line with company objectives, sales strategies and business needs  
  • Support continuous learning and development of the team 
  • Lead change and innovation within the team, including digitalization and multichannel efforts
  • Embody the vision and values of Seagen and bring them to life across the team and nourish the open-minded company culture of Seagen 
  • Build Seagen company and brand awareness with all relevant stakeholders 
  • Ensure the needs of all internal and external stakeholders are being met by building relationships and delivering innovative solutions 
  • Partner with Commercial Operations to deliver meaningful insights 
  • Provide and execute impactful budget planning and allocation of available resources within your assigned area in line with compliance guidelines 
  • Collaborate closely with National Sales Director to define sales strategy for France with strong focus on assigned territory 
  • Draft and implement the defined sales strategy including the identification of new business opportunities 
  • Provide insightful feedback during forecasting process 
  • Ensure all goals for division are met or exceeded; perform quarterly business reviews and provide leadership and strategic direction to your team in order to achieve performance objectives 
  • Work with your team members on a consistent basis, evaluating their interaction with key customers, providing them with coaching and feedback to assure effective and added-value customer calls 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on a regular basis, and be available as as resource within the French affiliate for various projects as needed
  • Assist in the development of division budgets 

Qualifications 

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in business or natural sciences   
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology
  • At least 7 years of experience as a first line sales manager in Oncology (breast and/or gyn-onc experience is highly preferred) 
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and presentation skills in French and English 
  • Situational leadership skills with high social competencies 
  • Proven record of high performance, consistent results and development of sales teams 
  • Strong knowledge of customer and healthcare landscape within therapeutic area is strongly required 
  • Solid understanding of account planning and management  
  • Sales Training, Sales Operations or Marketing experience is a plus 
  • Previous launch experience preferred 
  • Thorough understanding of local compliance, as well as a sound ethical approach to business  
  • Approximately 75% Travel required
  • Strong patient and customer focus 
  • Distinct communicative and integrative skills 
  • Persuasiveness and enthusiasm also in challenging situations 
  • Willingness to constantly learn and develop in a rapidly changing environment 
  • Mature personality with high sense for integrity and loyalty, high entrepreneurial and agile mindset 
  • Track record in managing conflicts 
  • Presentation drafting skills required (PowerPoint)
