Summary: 

The Associate Director, ERP will assist with defining the enterprise-wide strategy and oversight for the ERP ecosystem. This position ensures that the ERP systems and solutions needed to support the mission, goals, and operations of Seattle Genetics, Inc. are provided in a timely, accurate, creative, and cost-effective manner. The Associate Director, ERP will manage a team of ERP Analysts to build a responsive organization to help improve the efficiency and usability of the Global ERP system. The Associate Director will work closely with the Senior Director, ERP, to manage the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, all the integration/interfaces to current and future 3rd party solutions that the business will deploy.

 The Associate Director, ERP will manage various phases of the ERP solutions, such as implementation, support, and communications/trainings for the entire ERP product suite. Specific requirements include:

  • Create and maintain a team with strong functional/technical experience who can deliver high value consultative & supports services to customer base
  • Manage the release schedule for the ERP team for both validated and non-validate releases
  • Work directly with assigned department leads and application resources within the departments to manage the ERP ecosystem
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure effective resource deployment, resource management, development of strong SMEs and department Business Analyst to support IT solutions and by maintaining complete customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for the project management of ERP system and other solutions that are integrated with the ERP system
  • Deploy operational standards for application deployment with a strong focus on continuously improving technical capabilities and identify opportunities for improved business processes
  • Proactively resolve issues encountered during and post system implementation working with all levels of personnel, both internal and external
  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written-are required
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure effective resource deployment, effective resource management, development of strong SMEs and department Business Analyst to support IT solutions and by maintaining complete customer satisfaction
  • Provide support to other departments in evaluating new technologies/software/vendors that may provide opportunities for solutions or new applications necessary to accomplish institutional goals, objectives, and strategies particular to the expansion or integration with ERP system
  • Assure compliance (GxP, SOX, GDPR, etc) processes and policies are supported by the ERP solution across Seattle Genetics
  • Proactively identify project risk, analyze solutions, and take decisive action to resolve issues and communicate these to the business
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain key staff members
  • Finding and seizing opportunities for significant growth across the business, identify opportunities for improved business processes, considering potential benefits or gains as well as costs
  • Consistently focusing attention on annual goals and other related duties as assigned or required
  • Maintains effective relationships and communications with IT leadership and staff.

 Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related field required
  • Minimum of 10 years of increasingly responsible management experience, preferably in a Life Science/Bio-Tech organization, with a focus on ERP Business System
  • 10+ years of experience in managerial role
  • 5+ years of experience in managing the implementation of large-scale IT solutions
  • Extensive experience in project management and change management
  • Demonstrated track record of managing a diverse and dispersed group of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in workflow design
  • Strong business acumen for areas impacted by an ERP system
  • Technical competency in using business management tools
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with customers
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to present complex ERP system and technology issues in a clear, concise, and understandable manner
  • Experience in the implementation methodologies for commercial applications
  • Identifying and articulating issues or opportunities relating to specific ERP System
  • Strong experience with one, or all, of the following ERP solutions: Oracle, SAP, Dynamics AX
  • Experience Biotech industry
  • Experience with Biotech IT solutions
