Summary: 

Seagen is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager for Alliance Management. This role is an individual contributor position that will be responsible for supporting the Alliance Management team.  The incumbent will interact with internal and external partners to initiate agreements, manage or support the overall relationships, governance, and events to meet joint goals and ensure optimal strategic partnerships.   

Responsibilities: 

  • Work as a member of the Seagen Alliance Management team when partnering with companies to initiate alliances, manage joint milestones, and implement partnership agreements.  
  • Serve as alliance point of contact working with external partners and joint cross-functional team, as well as alliance counter parts to manage the health of the collaboration, including- contractual terms and issues, operating principals and advance joint goals and deliverables. 
  • Develop tools and resources that support collaboration governance and operating norms (e.g. communication, decision-making) including onboarding materials, joint sharing workspaces, and standard templates 
  • Responsible for working closely with internal stakeholders, team members and functional leads to ensure an aligned approach in relation to partner strategy, governance, and operations, including key business activities and events.  Responsible for escalating misalignment as appropriate.  
  • Coordinate with internal business partners (e.g. Finance, Communications, Legal, and Corporate Development) to facilitate ongoing and proactive relationship management with external partners to ensure strong alignment in support of key activities.  
  • Proactively track, monitor, and communicate contractual obligations and deliverables to ensure responsibilities are met in accordance with terms of collaboration  
  • Ensure that alliances are managed consistently, drive implementation of alliance management best practices, standard tools, and approaches 
  • Build and maintain internal alliance management communications and working space for sharing resources and best practices 
  • Develop tools for continuous improvement of partnership management at Seagen 
  • Build expertise in managing partners, including organizational awareness, effective governance, and engaging across management levels 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in biomedical sciences, business, or other discipline related to drug development 
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences or related industry  
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working with partners demonstrating relationship management abilities 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including joint leadership or governance committees, to accomplish shared goals 
  • Excellent business acumen with demonstrated ability to develop solutions that support product, team, corporate and alliance objectives 
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of the global drug development process and biotech/pharma industries 
  • A proven track record of being a proactive and strategic thinker, with strong facilitation, problem-solving and issue resolution skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to facilitate internal alignment, effectively and diplomatically negotiate and resolve conflict 
  • Adept in using collaboration with outstanding communication, relationship management skills and high emotional intelligence 
  • Adaptive leadership style with ability to influence teams without formal authority 
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple client groups in a highly matrixed global organization to advance priorities 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2 years’ experience working with partners or accounts, demonstrating relationship management abilities 
  • 3 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or life science industry with a focus in oncology is desirable
