POSITION SUMMARY:
In this position, the employee inspects all incoming vehicles (such as trucks, cars, buses, etc.) and enters information into the tablet. The employee is responsible for driving the vehicle to the staging area and for loading on the appropriate equipment for transfer (specialized containers, car racks, flat racks). Vehicles may include cars, trucks and buses. This position will also be cross-trained and float between the Vehicle Receiving and TIR departments. In the TIR department, the employee will inspect all incoming as well as outgoing cargo and/or equipment (i.e. container, chassis, and refrigerated units, etc.) and enter the necessary information into the hand-held computers. QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Minimum one (1) year experience working as a receiving clerk in an industrial environment such as warehouse or marine terminal receiving cargo and/or vehicles.
- A valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a Basic level.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must possess strong communications skills.
- Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.
- Must be able to perform assignments safely and efficiently in various roles and departments.
- Ability to obtain internal forklift certification within 90 days of employment.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, as needed.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and strong initiative.
- Ability to work in high paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees.
- Ability to think logically and make sound decisions.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.
Preferred
- Familiarity with vehicle components.
- Data entry experience.
- Experience handling hazardous cargo documentation.
- Experience operating a forklift at OSHA standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary – Vehicle Receiving Department
Secondary
· Perform miscellaneous office duties such as preparing documentation, stuff interoffice envelopes with documents containing the daily transactions for the different division at the main office. |
· Must maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards. |
· Carries boxes of container seals to replenish supply, as needed. |

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The employee is continuously required to walk, stand, grasp, reach forward, talk, use repetitive foot motion, use repetitive wrist motion, hear and use eye-hand coordination.
- The employee must continuously use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is frequently required to twist, pinch, bend forward, climb, squat, reach overhead, and use eye-hand-foot coordination, finger dexterity.
- The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 5lbs, push up to 10lbs, and pull up to 50lbs.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, crawl, balance, lift/carry up to 30lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives direction from the Supervisor and/or Team Leader. Does not exercise supervision over any position.
CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to all possible environmental factors such as extreme heat, rain, wind and high humidity during day and night shifts
- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
- The employee continuously works near moving vehicles (cars, trucks, etc.).
- The employee is occasionally exposed to dust, fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemical.
- Moderate to high noise volume
- The employee is continuously exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
- Drive automated vehicle, low to moderate vibration
