Summary 
The Public Safety Technology Specialist is responsible for executing large, complex information technology project work, from the planning phase through project close-out. This person will be tasked with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting applications in the Public Safety industry, specifically, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Mobile systems supporting Law Enforcement, Fire Protection Services, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). 
 
This is a technical role that requires in-depth knowledge of software delivery. 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Working at the direction of the Project Manager, the person will be responsible for delivering project tasks including: 
  • Installation 
  • Configuration 
  • Functional Requirements Definition 
  • Testing 
  • Training 
  • Troubleshooting 
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to project status 
  • Complete intermediate database administration activities 
  • Ensure quality standards and proper compliance with client rules and regulations 
 
Requirements 
  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience working within or consulting Public Safety Organizations 
  • Proven working experience implementing, configuring, or managing CAD, Mobile, or RMS systems 
  • Travel as required, estimated at 25% - 50% 
  • Intermediate/Advanced Experience with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint) 
  • Subject Matter Expert in CAD, RMS, Mobile, and other public safety systems 
  • Intermediate IT knowledge including database management, networking, and virtualization 
  • TCP/IP, UDP, HTTPS, Serial, etc 
  • Basic understanding of cloud technology 
  • Understanding of all facets of the project development lifecycle 
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to create and maintain strong client and team relationships 
  • Must be able to gain CJIS certification or pass background checks per client requirements 
  • Knowledge of Hexagon’s OnCall or I/CAD products a plus 
  • Experience with GIS is a plus
