Summary
The Unisys Agile Business Suite (AB Suite) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing AB Suite applications while ensuring they align with business requirements and technical specifications. This role involves troubleshooting, debugging, and ensuring smooth system operations while adhering to best practices and coding standards.

- A Competitive Salary range: $105,000 - $115,000/year
- Base salary may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonuses or commissions.

Responsibilities
The Unisys AB Suite Developer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Development and Maintenance:
- Build and maintain AB Suite applications to meet project requirements and functional specifications.
- Ensure the continued functionality and reliability of applications through regular updates and enhancements.
- Develop and maintain reports, support ETL operations, and participate in data migration efforts by iteratively extracting, converting, reformatting, reviewing, and cleansing data.
- Design and Implementation:
- Design and implement new features and functionality within the AB Suite framework.
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging:
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues within existing applications to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
- Technical Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for AB Suite applications, including design specifications, development processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and testers to ensure code quality and successful integration into the wider system.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- System Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to ensure optimal functionality.
- Agile Development:
- Utilize agile methodologies to manage development processes, including sprint planning, iterative development, and retrospective reviews.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Azure DevOps for managing development tasks, tracking progress, and facilitating continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
- Use Version Control to manage changes, track code revisions, and maintain the integrity of the codebase.
- Deployment and Testing:
- Deploy and test AB Suite applications to validate functionality and ensure they meet performance criteria.
- Problem-Solving:
- Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and implement solutions efficiently.
- Coding Standards:
- Adhere to established coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and readable code.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- 12 years of professional IT/development experience with some AB suite experience
- Technical Expertise:
- AB Suite Developer Tools: Proficiency in the AB Suite development environment, including Visual Studio and other related tools.
- Programming Languages: Strong knowledge of LDL+, Work Flow Language (WFL), and an understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
- Database Technologies: Familiarity with database systems used in conjunction with AB Suite, including DMSII.
- Operating Systems: Understanding of operating systems such as Windows or ClearPath MCP.
- Testing and Debugging Tools: Proficiency in debugging techniques and testing tools.
- Methodologies and Practices:
- Experience with agile and iterative development methodologies.
- Strong adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills to work within cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical challenges.
Skills and Experience (Preferred)
- Experience with Unisys Enterprise Output Manager.
- Knowledge of Virtual Tape Library (VTL) systems.
- Experience working on HR and Payroll Systems.
- Familiarity with legacy systems and their integration with modern technologies.
- Knowledge of the AB Suite runtime environment and deployment processes.
