Summary
 
The Accounting Manager is a technically strong, hands-on accounting professional and will lead key aspects of the monthly close, project accounting, revenue recognition, and audit preparation while working closely with the CFO and Assistant Controller in a lean, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. Responsibilities
  • Play a key role in driving an efficient and accurate monthly close process, working collaboratively with the Assistant Controller and CFO to ensure completeness and accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Be hands-on — this role requires rolling up your sleeves to resolve variances, investigate issues, and maintain accounting integrity.
  • Apply strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around complex revenue recognition models, including time & materials, fixed fee, milestone, and percentage-of-completion arrangements.
  • Oversee project accounting activities, partnering with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition across all engagement types.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policies, maintaining clear documentation and supporting all accounting conclusions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the annual audit: prepare schedules, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure timely completion.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project, and engagement teams to align accounting with project delivery and billing.
  • Learn and leverage SAP ByDesign to manage day-to-day accounting and reporting activities.
  • Partner with the CFO to enhance accounting processes, streamline the monthly close, and implement improvements that support scalable growth.
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to scale the accounting function as the company continues to grow.
  • Transition into supervision of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions (with approximately two direct reports) as part of the role’s growth trajectory.
 
Requirements
  • CPA required, with 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting foundation, with deep understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Professional services industry experience required; IT managed services or related environments (services plus hardware/software resale) strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience running the monthly close and managing year-end audit cycles.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis). Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a plus
  • Experience with sales tax compliance and filings is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a detailed, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
