What you’ll be doing: 
The Sr. Business Data Analyst is responsible for working across various business lines within the company to develop meaningful analyses with actionable insights and quantifiable predictions. Helps visualize results in an informative, business friendly fashion to assist in objective, reliable and strategic decision-making. The incumbent in this role will have the opportunity to work closely with the senior leadership team and develop a deep understanding of our growing business, while delivering recommendations to our business partners on opportunities to improve our operations and business results. This analyst will be expected to perform research, build & analyze complex datasets, present findings, and recommend changes and/or take actions based on numerous factors (e.g., data insights, regulatory changes, feedback from quality assurance reviews, market information, etc.) to solve problems and improve business outcomes.
  • Manages complex analyses based on operational, economic and/or financial data to measure the performance of the operating unit, evaluate potential operational changes and/or provide insights on business strategy impacts. Conceptualize and design innovative models to assess viability of strategic and tactical initiatives and programs.
  • Develops data driven models to evaluate and increase product/service profitability. Research, hypothesize and develop analytical approaches for identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets. Identifies business processes to review, analyzing information to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights using descriptive analytics.
  • Develop benchmarks, robust reporting, interactive dashboards, and key metrics across business channels to drive strategic planning, optimize profitability, revenue, and sales growth. Implement modeling solutions in support of new client acquisition and retention programs.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to design and build self-service dashboards to measure performance and assist in directing teams efforts towards initiatives with the largest impact, often using data visualization tools to further business insights. Curates presentations to senior management regarding findings and recommendations. Leveraging story-telling skills to deliver key insights that are clear, concise, and actionable.
  • Fosters an environment in which continuous improvement methodologies are applied to deliver value to customers. Identify, communicate, and lead the resolution of data gaps that impede the fulfilment of operational reporting and oversight. Performs and provides guidance to others on all the end-to-end steps required for analyses including requirements gathering, methodology development, data pulling, data processing, analysis, insight formulation and results delivery.
  • Uses data to build the business case for making a change to current practices, programs, or procedures. Partners with stakeholders on the design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of business process changes to improve business outcomes. May lead or provide support to the implementation and evaluation of complex business process changes. 
  • Develops, updates, and analyzes metrics used to determine operational performance, staffing needs, productivity, strategy shift impacts, or other measures deemed valuable to the organization.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology and other technical support teams and vendors, facilitating enhancements and fixes needed for the database, application, and standardized reporting, this includes but is not limited to the identification and documentation of issues and user testing.
  • Leads complex department strategic and/or implementation projects and initiatives, with diverse team (peers, senior leaders, internal and external stakeholders) and customer. Due to work volume or complexity may have a direct report, who focuses on proving support to this role.
What we are looking for: 
  • Bachelor`s degree in Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related quantitative field. (Advance degree preferred)
    8+ years of job specific experience that includes:
    • Advance research, problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
    • Advanced business operations knowledge to include understanding the function`s value chain and market conditions.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, persuade, inform, and influence others based on findings; ability to collaborate effectively across the organization with diverse teams.
    • Strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization
    • Strong project management skills as part of implementing business process changes
    • Advanced knowledge of available data sources, strengths, and shortcomings.
    • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Adobe, Tableau and Power BI)
    • Proficiency in programming languages for data manipulation, preferably SQL. Knowledge of business intelligence tools
    • Ability to manage multiple projects ranging in complexity in a deadline driven environment.
