What you’ll be doing:
The Revenue Cycle Systems (RCS) Systems Manager will manage and direct the development athenaIDX (AthenaIDX Business/Flowcast/IDX) application for the Revenue Cycle Services entity of SCP Health. The RCS Systems Manager is responsible demonstrating Agility, Courage, Respect, and Collaboration. The team duties include, but not limited to, end user support, including offshore, troubleshooting, building entries for new and existing dictionaries, building variants, building entries for new facilities, system letters, and system upgrades testing for athenaIDX applications. Responsible for automation of data transfers between the SCP Health/EMBCC facilities, for increase efficiency in capturing the patients’ demographics and insurance information via Admit/Discharge Transfers (ADT). Responsible for implementation of new facilities on ADT and improvement of the setup for existing ADT facilities, with the purpose of increasing the number of patients that flow from Facility to OnBase to TES to BAR, to be billed out without manual touches. The additional duties are to support athenaEDI processes, including daily, weekly and monthly processes for claims, remits and eligibility requests. Additional duties of claim, statement and form letter development and maintenance; SQL queries; dictionary maintenance; overseeing reports generated from the system for accuracy; and testing system upgrades for AthenaIDX applications, application development, system and end user support and maintenance of the athenaIDX system, specifically for TES/BAR/PCM/Claims Manager/EDM/ ETM and Security applications.  This position assist in overseeing the development of TES Edits, BAR Clam Edits, BAR claim logic, uploading of Charge Master and PCM fee schedules, Application Maintenance, System Testing and Special Projects. 
 
  • Sets technical strategies to ensure system is functioning efficiently and meets compliance SOC and SOX2 guidelines.
  • Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Prioritizes and assigns cases based on direction from upper management and knowledge of the business needs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the development, implementation, deployment and operation of revenue cycle systems to meet the organization’s business objectives.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Provides budgeting needs during yearly budgeting cycle and operates within budget.
  • Collaborates with both intra and interdepartmental resources/customers
  • Manage, coach and develop RSC System Analyst(s) and other responsible the development, usage and maintenance of athena IDX applications; use a logical approach in making decisions when the above-mentioned staff requires the Manager’s direction
  • Manage, coordinates with AthenaIDX engineers and KAV technical team to resolves cases, issues, and ensure stability of AthenaIDX Platform.
  • Develop processes and generate initiatives to increase automation and reduce cost
  • Monitor performance and challenge the team to meet goals set by executive management
  • Set clear expectations and hold staff accountable to those expectations
  • Provide the staff with guidance in resolving issues and ensure proper training when needed
  • Keep upper management abreast of both successes and problems as they occur
  • Manage/monitor Routine Application Maintenance and ensure systems proactive monitoring
    • Maintain any and all application-specific configurations
    • Provide testing of applications for upgrades and patches
    • Load Claims Manager LCDs and KBs into Optum Product
    • Load Charge Master Fees and PCM Fees
    • Monitor TES eval, extract, night jobs table and error trap
    • Log and monitor cases with AthenaIDX
    • Various Dictionary Maintenance and Uploads
    • Automated/Scheduled interfaces, scripts, and processes
  • Special Projects
    • Ensure good communication between RCS systems and business users with regards to application support.
    • Assist with user acceptance testing during upgrades, patches, etc.
  • Manage the administrative aspects of the department to assure:
    • Payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner
    • Policy and procedure manuals are kept up-to-date and distributed to the staff
    • Manage annual and interim performance reviews
    • Manage and approve time requests/attendance
    • Manage employee related HR topics
    • A high level of morale is sustained
  • Participate in various committees as required

Who/What we are looking for:
  • At least 8 years of experience Revenue Cycle/Medical Billing industry
  • Previous supervisory experience (preferred but not required)
  • Previous Healthcare Application Support experience (preferred 4-6 years of experience)
  • athenaIDX Application experience minimum 2 years of experience
  • Project Management Experience minimum 3 years
  • Responsibility for managing support cases in ServiceNow (preferred but not required)
