What you’ll be doing:
Your primary responsibility as a CDI Specialist will be to work closely with providers at your assigned facilities and collaborate with operational leaders across our business in support of accurate and efficient documentation practices. You’ll also get to: 
  • Train new and existing providers on CMS Documentation guidelines and documentation requirements
  • Advise and educate internal operations teams on documentation coding and professional fee for service billing rules
  • Provide feedback directly to providers on documentation performance
  • Analyze monthly facility report cards and make recommendations for improvement
  • Facilitate provider onboarding presentations virtually
  • Participate in provider Electronic Medical Record training and provide feedback/clarification on documentation and coding workflow concepts
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives related to clinical documentation improvement 
Who/What we are looking for: 
  • You have 3 years of experience in a hospital or physician practice environment
  • You have a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Information Management, Nursing or similar field of study
  • You are an LPN with direct relevant and related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
  • You are able to work well with a team and can travel to visit various facilities nationally by commercial air and car 25-50%
  • You have a genuine enthusiasm to train others and have no problem interfacing directly with clinicians
  • You are skilled at delivering presentations in-person and virtually with confidence
  • You have great time management skills and can juggle multiple priorities
  • You are laser-focused on getting results and building great rapport with providers and operations leaders
  • You have demonstrated intermediate Excel skills (you know what a pivot table is and can use basic-intermediate Excel functions to parse and analyze data) 
A few more things you should know 
  • It’s a plus if you have a coding, nursing, and/or healthcare administration background or similar experience
  • It’s a plus if you have Emergency Department or Hospital Medicine documentation or coding experience
  • Requires intermittent travel averaging 25% -50%
  • RHIA, CDI, CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P is strongly preferred.
