What you’ll be doing:

 
Contribute to the process of chart acquisition for hospital medicine which includes in-depth research, quality reviews, resolutions of chart queries, completing exceptions, maintaining remote EMR acquisition access, auditing of electronically stored documents, and reporting data. Work to incorporate and maintain the core values of agility, collaboration, respect, and courage in all business decisions and interactions. Actively contribute to department goals of automation, innovation, cost efficiencies, and inventory targets. 
  •  Accurately acquire hospital medicine charts for registration, coding, and billing
  •  Maintain facility EMR access and remain compliant with all remote guidelines including patient privacy and access security.
  •  Resolve outstanding Chart Resources queries for hospital medicine charts.
  •  Maintain metrics and audits accurately and efficiently.
  •  Complete all tasks with a performance expectation of 98% accuracy & 4-day TAT.
  •  Report and publish audit findings and metrics to appropriate parties, including immediate and upper management.
  •  Maintain quality standards throughout the department.
  •  Maintain existing acquisition/auditing policy and procedure documents as necessary to include current coding guidelines per facility.
  •  Review patient data to ensure accuracy including account number, name, visit date, and other demographic data when required.
  •  Communication to all relevant support groups for follow-up and resolution of document data issues
  •  Maintain daily production goals and accurate production spreadsheets.
  •  Agility to back-up chart validation and other Chart Resources processes when required.
  •  Collaboration in company/departmental activities, charitable initiatives, and overall corporate goals and objectives
  •  Assist in training new and existing team members.
  •  Identify, analyze and report finding while trending and reporting data.
  •  Minimum of 2 years of chart acquisition experience
  •  Responsible for mySCP Care Return from Acq visits, escalate to HM Ops as needed.
  •  Analyze partner error rebuttals and respond accordingly.
  •  Maintain proper record keeping of individual user quality scores.
  •  Audit new users or new facilities to ensure acquisition accuracy.
  •  Conducting retraining sessions with chart acquisition as requested by management.
  •  Responsible for identifying acquisition error trends and escalating to management.
  •  Technical aptitude to navigate relevant PreBilling systems and regular use of time management applications to manage responsibilities.
  •  Understanding of MIPS requirements to properly escalate or resolve Quality queries.
  •  Responsible for creating and maintaining EMR training material.
  •  Proficiency in all Electronic Medical Record Systems
  •  Interpret medical terminology and documentation to properly escalate or resolve provider queries.
  •  Identify, report, and assist in the resolution of rare or unique events in trending data and reporting.
  •  Proficient knowledge of Hospital Medicine/OBS chart components

Who/What we are looking for:  
  •  You have a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  •  You have an associate degree preferred not required.
  •  You have a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in one or all the following areas: Customer Service, Quality Assurance, research, auditing, and reporting.
  •  You have experience in the Healthcare Industry
  •  You have basic knowledge of Hospital Medicine/Emergency Medicine/Inpatient chart components and/or terminology.
  •  You have Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office™, Microsoft Excel™, Microsoft Word™ and Microsoft Outlook™ required.
  •  You have experience using Kofax Capture™ or compatible application.
  •  You have experience using OnBase™ or compatible application.
  •  You have knowledge of Athena IDX billing system (preferred but not required)
  •  You are proficient in assigned electronic medical record systems (training provided)
