What you’ll be doing:
The Coding Specialist performs auditing as required as well as provides guidance to outsourcing partners as it relates to coding and edit reviews.
  • Provide guidance as it relates to third party audit reviews, patient complaints, coding denials etc. as required from billing companies and as directed by SG/Pro Code, Inc.
  • Maintain a working relationship and communicate any coding and training issues to the Director of Coding and Quality Services and Supervisor/Manager of Coding and Quality Services.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of coding, editing, and other review processes as directed by Pro Code, Inc.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely record keeping of all required documentation.
  • Maintain accuracy & coding production goal as outlined in our Corporate Compliance plan.
  • Perform auditing, coding, editing, and review processes (deficiency, nonbillable, denial, and other) as directed by Pro Code, Inc.
  • Perform timely filing reviews as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Utilize available systems and reports to identify issues to assess and determine further coding, editing or auditing needs.
  • Provide other services as needed for complementary service lines. (ie. Hospital Medicine, Urgent Care, etc.)
  • Comply with HIPAA requirements in relation to all chart activities.
  • Maintain required procedures in line with coding policies and procedures.
  • Attend appropriate professional and educational meetings.
  • Assist with additional projects as requested by Management.
Who/What we are looking for:
  • You have your RHIA Certification
  • You have coding experience
  • You have a bachelor's degree preferred
