Position Summary:

This position serves as the Business Leader of the Engineering Services segment within the Protective Solutions business unit and is responsible for all areas of the assigned business. The position provides a source of advanced business knowledge, problem solving and leadership capabilities involving a wide range of operational and strategic capabilities.  The position develops, implements, and oversees plans and programs related to talent, strategic planning, operational direction, capital investment analysis, risk management and related activities.  Collaboration, the ability to excel in a matrix environment and a drive for results are the keys to success in our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and vision to the Protective Solutions by assisting the Business Unit President with the development of short and long-term growth strategies and plans
  • Drives the growth of the dedicated business/es by having direct responsibility for the overall P&L
  • Actively participates in the formulation of business objectives and financial plans ensuring timely and accurate preparation of budgets, forecasts and long-term plans
  • Collaborates with other business leaders in support of strategic priorities
  • Acts as a leader of change and exhibit actions in alignment with Mativ Principles
  • Leads teams that identify new business and market opportunities and creates appropriate business/sales plans, (annual and short-term)
  • Monitors organization's market share and competitive placement
  • Creates new sales and cross-selling opportunities for Mativ
  • Identifies product portfolio opportunities thru organic growth, acquisition identification and partnership opportunities
  • Ensures customer retention and product fulfillment
  • Continuously tracks the competitive marketplace and/or alternative use markets
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, discount rates and price increases; analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist in promoting sales
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives
  • Participates in cross functional teams with marketing, R&D, legal and operations to effectively address both PS’s and customers’ needs on a timely basis
  • Oversees development of overall sales & marketing strategy / product plans for all markets, including:

            Targeted volumes

            Pricing / profitability

            Resources & Investments

            Strategic Initiatives

            New Product Support/Launch

  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion

 

Education/Certifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or Science; MBA strongly preferred
  • 10 plus years of experience in product placement / new market development in business-to-business sales (industrial/manufacturing product applications)
  • 5 plus years of experience managing business in the plastic conversion and roll to roll coatings.
  • Experience in digital marketing, marketing strategy and lead generation is highly desirable.

Required Skills:

  • Broad understanding of economics, operations and business management, sales and marketing, supply chain, finance, relationship management, conflict management, and the ability to deal with complex situations and environments
  • Experience managing the overall direction, coordination, and development of a complex business unit
  • Proven strategic marketing executor with a value creation track record.
  • Excellent financial acumen (P&L, Budgeting, Sales Forecasting, etc.)
  • Proven general management and P&L management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Sales leadership and senior sales experience is required to manage multiple account, customer service and sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success in driving transformational organizational and cultural changes
  • Proven ability to work effectively across multiple levels in an organization in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent judgement and decision making
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute to actionable plans
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial programs
  • Ability to manage multiple layers of management staff in a complex organization
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Multi-tasking and delegation
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of time
  • Position is located in New Berlin, Wisconsin
